Fame, Fortune, And Success: Does Grammar and Spelling Matter?

Here's a thought I had while editing my friend Kevin's smoothie book.

Most famous, wealthy, and really successful (by North American standards) people I know are really lacking in the language arts department.

Watch the video to see what I mean.

SO my thought for today is that I've been sitting here editing this book for my friend Kevin Gianni. It's a book of smoothie recipes from some of the world's most renowned raw food experts. It's been really a good learning experience in a lot of ways.

I've learned a lot about raw food. I can make these cool smoothies out of all this stuff that I've never even heard of.

Here's the thing that's really interesting to me, and they've thing I've learned is: most of the things that people worry about, and most of the things that people spend time focused on, don't really matter. I mean, here are these people who are doing hundreds of thousands and millions of dollars in business every year with their products and services, serving the raw foods community.

These are all the experts from those communities and this isn't to say anything negative about them necessarily, but WOW! their grammar sucks! I mean, wow.

So I'm just going through and editing this, and I'm looking at it,, and I'm going... The things that most people think about, the things that they think matter: grammar, or spelling, and punctuation in writing well. You can hire people to do all that stuff people who actually care about that. Now the question is; what matters to you in in this situation? Because if you care about grammar and those things are really important to you, then of course it's important.

But if what you're shooting for in life is fame, fortune, prosperity, then grammar might not be that important on your path. And I've seen this elsewhere. Some of the wealthiest people that I know the have had real challenges with writing, and reading, and driving down the road.

So anyway, that's my thought for the day, what do you think?

Are grammar and spelling are important on the path to fame, fortune, and success, or do you think that that's something that's not that important?

I'd love to know.
